Genetic Counselor
Remote Work Opportunity (part or full time contract)
myGENetiks is seeking genetic counselors to provide video-counseling on a contract basis to our clients undergoing whole exome sequencing and other targeted panel screenings. The Genetic Advisor will work in conjunction with clinical geneticists to assist families to understand alternatives for dealing with risk of genetic disorders, choose the course of action they deem appropriate and make the best possible adjustment in an affected family member. This is an opportunity to work from office, home, with evening and weekend available.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide genetic counseling by telephone or videoconference to clients who have undergone whole exome sequencing or other targeted panel screening.
- Collaborate with scientific and clinical teams to provide state-of-the art interpretation of sequence variants.
- Write educational material, consents and reports.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Genetic Counseling from an accredited training program. Master’s or PhD Degree is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to clearly explain medical information in verbal and written form.
- Experience with video-counseling is desirable.
- Candidates fluent in two or more languages are preferred.
- Ability and desire to work independently.
COMPENSATION: Compensation will be based on experience.

Clinical Geneticist

The Clinical Geneticist will work in conjunction with genetic counselors to assist families to understand alternatives for dealing with risk of genetic disorders, choose the course of action they deem appropriate and make the best possible adjustment in an affected family member. Evaluating, identifying, and assessing patients with suspected inheritable diseases
Collaborate with scientific and clinical teams to provide state-of-the art interpretation of sequence variants
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Doctor of Medicine
- Experience of at least 2 years as a geneticist.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to clearly explain medical information in verbal and written form.
- Experience with video-counseling is desirable.

Bioinformatician Associate
Remote Work Opportunity (part or full time contract)
myGENetiks is looking for bioinformaticians to develop algorithms, statistical methods, and software to analyze large-scale genomic datasets. You will implement these methods to identify new disease targets and mechanisms. You will develop cutting-edge methods that will serve as the foundation of a revolutionary drug development model. The Bioinformatician Associate will work in conjunction with clinical geneticists to assist families with genetic conditions.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design, develop, and operate computational pipelines for the analysis of next-generation sequencing data
- Manage and archive large data sets from next-generation sequencing experiments.
- Collaborate with scientific and clinical teams to provide state-of-the art interpretation of sequence variants.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- M.S. in biological, mathematical, physical, or computer science with >1 years of experience involving computational analysis. PhD Degree is a plus.
- Experience with scientific computing software (UNIX, R, etc.).
- Expertise within one of the following fields: Genetics, Genomics, Statistics, or Algorithm Development.
- Experience analyzing large scale genomic data such as whole exome/genome sequencing, microarrays or RNA-seq is desired.
- Ability to translate high-level data-processing and analysis into concrete tasks.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively are strongly preferred.
